Journal 17: Longfellow

Read pages 250-252 "A Psalm of Life" and "The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls" by Longfellow. Then answer the personal response question on page 255.

Do we leave "Footprints on the sands of time" or does death erase all traces of our lives?  In a brief paper, contrast the views presented in the two poems. With which viewpoint do you agree? Why?

Afterwards write a 3 stanza poem about life from your perspective.
